Knitting Circles in Ireland

Unless you’ve been living inside your knitting bag for the last few years, you won’t need us to tell you that knitting has become the hippest hobby around.  Every day we welcome more trendy new knitting recruits into our shop as well as die-hard knitting fanatics.  Knitters across the country have started banding together in recent months and the newest knitting phenomenon is Knitting Circles.  A Knitting Circle is a group of knitters having a chat while they knit, show off their latest creations and give each other a helping hand.  The groups mentioned below are all open to the public and welcome new members to drop by and enjoy the fun.

Carnival Knitting Circle, Dublin

Where: Carnival Bar; upstairs, George’s St., Dublin 2
When: Every Sunday evening, 7pm.
Contact: Annie
Web: www.carnivaldublin.blogspot.com

This knitting circle attracts a mixed bunch of knitters, new people popping in all the time.  A lot of beginners regularly attend, so Annie is especially keen for more experienced knitters to come along and share their wisdom!  That said, all are welcome to drop in to knit and chat in a friendly, relaxed atmosphere in a great city centre location.

Knit Night North, Dublin

Where: Costa Coffee, Omni Shopping Center, Swords Rd, Santry.
When: Every Thursday at 7pm
Contact: Cheryl
Web: www.olannban.blogspot.com

This knitting circle boasts good coffee, great chat and wonderful creativity all in one night!  Everyone is welcome, whether they've been knitting for years or have never picked up needles before!  Cheryl says that she is very willing to help beginners get started.

Knitters' Night Out, Dublin
